Shared Inspirations with Katie Caulk
I love printmaking, and Katie Caulk is an outstanding printmaker. She created "Savannah Stroll," a handprinted linocut using the reductive process, based on my photograph of a family of elephants.
Here's what Katie has to say about her piece:
"Lisa Aikenhead's powerful Tanzania "Elephant Family" moved me. The love, the protective bond and spirit in family resonated especially as our first grandbaby arrived in May. In my interpretation, the central characters stroll unafraid of poachers in the sunlit (or moonlit?) savannah, compassion reflected in those eyes. Be kind to elephants!"
